Echoes of the Night: Derek

Before the prophecy.

Before the city fell into shadow.

Derek was already fighting to survive.

At twelve, he realizes something about him is different. He reacts to danger before he has time to think. Sometimes before he even knows there is danger. 

Then there are the crows.

They keep showing up. Watching him. And after a while, Derek starts to wonder why.

The stranger things get, the harder they are to ignore. Derek knows something is changing. He just doesn't know what it is, or what it means for him. 

 Then Mark shows up. Somehow, almost overnight, Derek has a friend he can actually trust. 

 But having Mark around doesn’t change what Derek goes home to. And as things with Frank get worse, so do the things Derek can’t explain. 

 Echoes of the Night: Derek goes back to where it all began, long before Derek knew what he was capable of or where his life was headed.
